Let's draw a rectangular prism with appropriate dimensions.

Given,
Length of the rectangular prism $l = 11$ ft

Breadth of the rectangular prism $b = 9$ ft

Height of the rectangular prism $h = 12$ ft

As we know,
The lateral surface area of a rectangular prism = 2 ( l + b ) h

$= 2 (11 + 9) \times 12$

$= 2 \times 20 \times 12 = 480 {ft}^{2}$

Given, Cost of paint is $$ 3 sq. ft$

Hence, Total Cost of paint is $$ 480 \times 3 = $ 1440$
