  1. It refers to the total volume of air-filled in the lungs at the end of forced inspiration( atmospheric air drawn in the body).
  2. The total lung capacity of a healthy man is 6000mL.
  3. It is calculated by adding Residual volume (RV) and Inspiratory capacity (IC) or adding Functional Residual volume (FRC) and Inspiratory capacity (IC).
