Transpiration facilitates the
ascent of sap and cooling
Transpiration helps in the absorption and upward movement of water (ascent of sap) and minerals dissolved in it from roots to the leaves. During transpiration, liquid water is absorbed by plant roots, flows up xylem tubes in stems and into leaves. In the cells surrounding the stomatal chamber, water evaporates from the cell wall.T his evaporation helps in the cooling of plant leaves.
Translocation is the movement of materials from leaves to other tissues throughout the plant. Photosynthesis is the process by which plants, some bacteria, and some protistans use the energy from sunlight to produce glucose from carbon dioxide and water.
