Transpiration is the evaporation of water from plants. It occurs in the leaves while their stomata are open for the passage of $C{O}_2$ and $O_2$ during photosynthesis. This process pulls water from the roots to supply it to the leaves which is also required for the process of photosynthesis and also bring minerals from the roots for biosynthesis within the leaf.
