Adaptor is a device that acts as a mediator between two systems which are not compatible. tRNA is charged by attaching an amino acid at one end. It then binds the ribosome-mRNA complex at the position defined by a codon that codes for an amino acid. So, the tRNA molecule acts as an adaptor because it converts mRNA into proteins by the process of translation.
