Question

Try to swallow the saliva in your mouth, and feel by your hand in your neck. What happens in the neck?

Whenever we swallow anything (Food or Saliva) there is a movement of the muscles inside the neck. This movement is called Peristalsis which is actuaaly the muscular contraction and relaxation of smooth Muscles. This movement helps in forcing the food /Saliva inside Oesophagus (food pipe)
