Question

Turgor pressure is responsible for extension in cell. How??

Open in App
Solution

Turgor pressure is the pressure of the contents of the cell against the cell wall in plants cells. In hypotonic solution, water diffuses into the cell which leads to the cell enlargement and extension growth occurs. As water diffuses the cytoplasm exerts the pressure on the cell wall and the cell becomes turgid due to the movement of water inside.
