Let the number be x.

Number obtained after adding twelve to this number = x + 12

Number obtained on subtracting 10 from twice the number = 2x - 10

As per the question,

x + 12 = 2x - 10

$\Rightarrow$ 2x - x = 12 + 10

$\Rightarrow$ x = 22

Therefore, the required number is 22.
