Twenty four counters are placed in a bag. Two of them are red, three are orange, four are yellow, six are green and the rest are blue. One counter is drawn at random find the probability that it is red.

Step Finding the probability that the drawn counter is red:

There are 24 counters placed in a bag, so the total outcome is 24.

In the bag, there are 2 red counters.

So the favorable outcomes are 2.

The formula for the probability is expressed as,

Probability=NumberoffavorableoutcomesTotalnumberofoutcomes

Substitute favorable number of outcomes as 2 and the total number of outcomes as 24.

Pred=224Pred=112

Hence, the probability of drawing a counter which is red from a bag of 24 counters is 112.
