Two adjacent sides of a parallelogram are 24 cm and 18 cm. If the distance between the longer sides is 12 cm, then the distance between the shorter sides is
Distance between the longer sides is nothing but the altitude with longer side as the base of the parallelogram.
With base as 24, height = 12
With base as 18, height = distance between the shorter sides
Area of parallelogram = Base x Height
⇒12 × 24 = 18 × distance between the shorter sides
∴Distance between the shorter sides = 16 cm
