The correct option is B 16 cm

Distance between the longer sides is nothing but the altitude with longer side as the base of the parallelogram.

With base as 24, height = 12
With base as 18, height = distance between the shorter sides

Area of parallelogram = Base x Height

12 × 24 = 18 × distance between the shorter sides

Distance between the shorter sides = 16 cm
