Perimeter$=2a+2b=48$cm .......$\left(1\right)$

Also $\frac{a}{b}=\frac{5}{3}$

i.e., $a=\frac{5b}{3}$ ..........$\left(2\right)$

Put $\left(2\right)$ in $\left(1\right)$

$\frac{10b}{3}+2b=48$

$\Rightarrow 16b=16\times 9$

i.e., $b=9$

$\Rightarrow a=15$.
