Given two adjacent sides $12cm$ and $8cm$.
The formula for area of parallelogram is base $\times$ corresponding altitude.
When base is 12 then its corresponding altitude is $6cm$.
Area of parallelogram is $12\times 6=72c{m}^2$
Let x be the length of the altitude corresponding to the side $8cm$.
As area remains the same $72c{m}^2=8cm\times x$.
$\therefore x=\frac{72}{8}=9cm$
The other altitude corresponding to 8 cm is 9 cm.
