Solution

Variations arise in each organism which forms the basis of formation of new species and ultimately lead to evolution. Different organisms show similarity and differences in certain characteristics which determine the degree of resemblance between them. The organisms with more similar characters are considered to be more closely related and thought to have been evolved from the same ancestor. Classification means the arrangement of organisms based on similarities and differences in characteristics. The classification of organisms helps us in understanding the evolutionary relationship among different organisms at a glance. Thus, the classification of organisms reflects evolutionary relationships among them. Therefore, both the areas of study are interlinked.
