Two balls $A$ and $B$ of masses $100g$ and $250g$ connected to the ends of a weightless stretched spring are placed on a smooth horizontal surface. On being released, the ball $B$ goes towards west with an initial acceleration of $10cm/s^2$. with what initial acceleration and in which direction will the ball $A$ go?

Net force as shown in figure.

$m_1{a}_1=m_2{a}_2$

$m_1=100g$ $m_2=250g$

$a_1=a$ $a_2=10cm/s^2$

$\therefore \left(100\right)a=\left(250\right)\left(10\right)$

$a=25cm/s^2$
