For each ball, apply equation of motion:
v2=u2+2as
v : Final velocity of particle
u : Initial velocity of particle
a : Acceleration of particle
s : Displacement of particle
When passing through the point of projection in a downward motion,
a=g and s=0.
v=u
Hence, both balls have the same speed at every point of motion it means the speed of both particles does not depend upon the mass of the particle.
