Question

Two beakers are filled with the same liquid. In beaker A , a metallic cylinder is completely immersed. In beaker B a wooden cube having the same volume is partially immersed. Which of the two object experience greater upthrust? Give reasons.

Solution

Upthrust experienced by the object is directly proportional to the volume of water displaced.

Since volume of both the objects is same hence volume of water displaced remains same therefore both the object will experience same upthrust force.
