Two birds of exactly same mass are kept in two cages A and B. Cage A is made of glass and cage B is made of wire net. Both cages are kept on a weighting machine . While the birds are sitting on a bar fitted inside the cage the reading of the weighting machine is noted. If the birds now start flying and hovering in air in their cages , how do the readings in the weighting machine change.
Dear Student...
In case of wire cage, the outer atmosphere will interfere. Thus the force created due to bird flies can escape to the atmosphere..when sitting on the rod the full weight was on the cage but now the force by the bird is decreased.. So the overall cage weight decreases and therefore the readings on weighting machine decreases
While in case of glass cage, there is no interference of atmosphere. Any movements inside the cage will not change the overall weight of the cage. Thus no change in the reading
(This is because in an isolated system, internal forces cannot change the overall weight of the body)
Example : pushing a vehicle from inside will not move it..
Hope helpful to you...
