If the spring is stretched by 1 cm and friction is maximum, Calculate the spring constant (k) of the spring shown in the figure.

As block B is at rest.

Block A is also at rest.Therefore balancing forces along y axis.

We know maximum value of static friction is;fs=μN=μmAg
Balancing forces along x axis gives.
T=kx=μmAg
k=μmAgx=0.3×10×100.01 N/m=3000 N/m
