Given that,

Mass m1=6kg

Mass m2=4kg

Force F=5N

Now, the acceleration is

F=(m1+m2)a

a=F(m1+m2)

a=54+6

a=0.5m/s2

Now, force on lighter mass

F=m2×a

F=4×0.5

F=2N

Hence, the force is 2N
