The correct option is D 1.2m
Mass of first body is m1=0.1 kg and its velocity before collision u1=1 m/s
Mass of second body is m2=0.4 kg and its velocity before collision u2=0.1 m/s (moving in opposite direction)
Let the velocity of combined mass just after collision be V.
Using conservation of linear momentum :
m1u1+m2u2=(m1+m2)V
(0.1)(1)+(0.4)(0.1)=(0.1+0.4)V
V=0.12 m/s
Time t=10 s
Distance covered S=Vt=0.12×10=1.2 m
