Resistance of bulb A=R1=V2P
=220×22025
R1=1936Ω
Resistance of bulb B=R2=220×220100=484Ω
Current through bulbs =I=440R1+R2=4402420=211A
P.d. across the bulb A=V1=IR1=211×1936
V1=IR1=211×1936=352V
It is much greater than its rated potential difference of 220V
Therefore, bulb A will burn out.
Potential difference across bulb B=V2=IR2=211×484=88V
Much less than this rated potential difference of 220V
Therefore, bulb B will not burn out
