Two burglars A and B decided to split their loot in the ratio 2 : 3. If A received ₹ 20000, what is the total amount of loot they stole?
It is known, the ratio of their loot is 2 : 3.
We know, A received ₹ 20,000
∴ Value of 2 parts = ₹ 20,000
⇒ Value of 1 part = ₹ 10,000
⇒ Value of 3 parts = ₹ 30,000
∴ B received ₹ 30,000
Therefore, the total loot = Loot with A + Loot with B
⇒ 20,000 + 30,000 = ₹ 50,000.
