Each cannonball is in air for more than two seconds. After 1 second from the launch, acceleration of cannonball at ground is a1 and acceleration of cannonball at a height is a2.

The only force acting on both the cannon shots is the force of gravity only. Hence the acceleration of both the cannon shots at all times during the trajectory motion is g downwards.
