Solution

Dear Student ,
Here in this case the car x moves with speed of 40 km/h and y moves with speed of 50 km/h .
Now, time taken by them is , t = half of an hour
Now the car x moves in half an hour is ,Sx=vxt=40×12=20 kmAgain , car y movess in half an hour is ,Sy=vyt=50×12=25 kmNow , as they start from same point and at same time in opposite directionso , after half an hour ditance between them is ,D=Sx+Sy=20+25=45 km
