Two chords AB and CD of a circle intersect at a point P inside the circle such that AB=12cm,AP=2.4cm,PD=7.2cm,find CD

Open in App
Solution

Given AB=12, AP=2. 4, PD=7. 2
So its clear that PB=9.6 (AB=AP+PB) = (PB=AB-AP)
AP×PB=CP×PD
2. 4×9. 6=7. 2×X
=> X=(2. 4×9. 6)÷7. 2 = 3. 2cm
CD=3. 2cm
