Solution

The correct option is D 11 cm, 7 cm
Let radius of circle A be r1 and radius of circle B be r2
Given, r1r2=4 ---------(i)
and πr12+πr22=170π
r12+r22=170 -----------(ii)
(i) r1=4+r2
Now, putting this value in (ii), we get
(4+r2)2+r22=170
16+8r2+r22+r22=170
2r22+8r2154=0
2r22+22r214r2154=0
2r2(r2+11)14(r2+11)=0
(r2+11)((2r214))=0
r2=11 (not possible) or r2=7
Thus, r2=7
r1=r2+4
r1=7+4=11
Thus, the radius of the two circles are 11 cm and 7 cm.
