The radical axis bisects the common tangent BD. Hence, M is midpoint of BD.
Let C(a,b)
Now, C(a,b) lies on the common chord AE which is y2=1(x1) or x+y=3.
Therefore, a+b=3 (i)
Also, M(a+12,b+22) lies on 4x2y=9. Therefore,
4(a+12)2(b+22)=9
or 2a+2b2=9
or 2ab=9 (ii)
Solving, (i) and (ii), a=4 and b=1, therefore,
a+b=3
