Two circles with circumference 44$\pi$ cm and 20$\pi$ cm respectively touch internally. Find the distance between their centres.

Let $C_1$ and $C_2$ be the circumferences of the circle with radii ‘r’ and ‘s’ respectively.

$C_1$ = 2$\pi$r = 44$\pi$

r = 22cm

$C_2$ = 2$\pi$s = 20$\pi$

s = 10cm

The distance between their centres = r – s

= 22 – 10

= 12cm
