Mutual Induction is the phenomenon of an emf being induced in one coil in response to current changing in another coil.
The mutual inductance between two coils depends on their degree of flux linkage, i.e., the fraction of flux of one coil linked to the other coil. When two coils are placed close to each other, then the mutual inductance of the pair of coils depends upon relative position and orientation of the two coils.
