Two coins are tossed simultaneously. Find the probability of getting Head on one coin and Tall another coin.

Open in App
Solution

When two coins are tossed simultaneously, the sample space is given by :
S:{HH,HT,TH,TT}

where, H is appearance of Head and T is appearance of Tail on the coin.
n(S)=4

Let E be an event when head appears on one coin and tail on another coin.

E:{HT,TH}

n(E)=2

Probability of even E is P(E)=n(E)n(S)

P(E)=24

P(E)=12
