Question
Two complemntary angles are in the ratio 2 : 3. The measure of the larger angle is
(a) 60°
(b) 54°
(c) 66°
(d) 48°
Open in App
Solution
Let the angles be 2x and 3x.
Now, 2x + 3x = 90
∘
⇒ 5x = 90
∘
⇒ x = 18
∘
∴ Larger angle = 3x = 3 × 18
∘
= 54
∘
Hence, the correct answer is option (b).
