AB = CD


Let OP be perpendicular to line L.

Perpendicular from the centre of a circle to the chord bisects the chord.

BP = PC (i) (OP is perpendicular to chord BC)

AP =PD (ii) (OP is perpendicular to chord AD)

Subtracting (i) from (ii) you get

AP – BP = PD – PC

Or AB = CD
