Two concentric conducting shells A and B are of radii Rand 2R. A charge + q is placed at the centre of the shells Shell B is earthed and a charge q is given to shell A. The charge on outer surface of A is $n q$ , find $n$ .

charge at center = q
charge on inner surface of A = negative of charge at center = -q
charge on outer surface of A + charge on inner surface of A = q $\Rightarrow$ charge on outer surface of A = 2q
As B is grounded, no charge is developed on B
