The correct option is A 20 cm, diverging

Given,
focal length of lens 1, f1=20 cm
focal length of lens 2, f2=20 cm
distance between the lens, d=60 cm

We can replace the lenses by an equivalent lens having focal length f given by
1f=1f1+1f2df1f2
Substituting the given data we get,

1f=120+12060400

f=20 cm

Since, focal length is negative, we can say that equivalent lens behaves as a diverging lens.

Hence, option (a) is the correct answer.
