Question

Two cubes each if volume 64cm3 is joined end to end. Find the total surface area and volume of the resulting cuboid.

Open in App
Solution

since volume = 63cc
side = cube root of 64 = 4 cm

Therefore
new length of the figure(cuboid) = 4+4+4 =12

New breadth = 4

New Height = 4

TSA = 2(lb +bh+lh)
= 2( 48 + 16 +16)
=160

Volume of the cuboid will be equal to the volume of two cubes = 2 x 64 = 128 cm3
