$I f t w o c u b e s o f e d g e s 6 c m a r e j o i n e d f a c e t o f a c e i t w i l l t a k e t h e s h a p e o f a c u b o i d w h o s e l e n g t h, b r e a d t h a n d h e i g h t a r e (6 + 6) c m, 6 c m a n d 6 c m i . e . 12 c m, 6 c m a n d 6 c m r e s p e c t i v e l y . T h u s, t o t a l s u r f a c e a r e a o f t h e c u b o i d = 2 (l b + b h + l h) = 2 (12 \times 6 + 6 \times 6 + 12 \times 6) = 2 (72 + 36 + 72) = 2 \times 180 c m^{2} = 360 c m^{2}$
