When product of number appearing on them is less than 9, then possible ways are (1,6), (1,5), (1,4), (1,3), (1,2), (1,1), (2,2), (2,3), (2,4), (3,2), (4,2), (4,1), (3,1), (5,1), (6,1) and (2,1).
Numbers of possible ways = 16
$\therefore$ Required probability $=\frac{16}{36}=\frac{4}{9}$
