Solution

The correct option is D

59

Find the probability of the given condition:

The total number of outcomes=36

Let Abe the event of getting an even number on the first dice and B be the event of getting a total of 8

Size of the event A={(2,1),(2,2).......(2,6),(4,1),(4,2)......(4,6),(6,1),(6,2)......(6,6)}=18

Size of the event B ={(2,6),(3,5),(4,4),(5,3),(6,2)}=5

Size of the event AB={(2,6),(4,4),(6,2)}=3

P(AB)=P(A)+P(B)-P(AB)

=1836+536-336

=2036=59

Hence, the correct option is (D).
