Question

Two electrically charged particles, having charges of different magnitude, when placed at a distance d from each other, experience at the same distance from each other. What is the nature of new force between them? Is the magnitude of the force of interaction between them now more or less than F is?

Solution

The potential force to pull them apart after having them near is higher but the force after it is brought back to the same distance as it was originally should be virtually the same.

If two charged particles come in contact then the charges are redistributed. If they are positive and negative charged ones, they will be neutralized.
