Question

Two forces act on the object in the same direction, and then in opposite directions. What will be the net force on the object in each of the two cases?

  1. Let the forces be F1 and F2 in both the cases.
  2. In the first case when they are acting in the same direction the net force will be F1 +F2.
  3. In the second case when the forces are acting in the opposite direction, the net force will be F1 -F2 or F2 -F1 (Greater in magnitude-Lesser in magnitude)
