Two friends added their money and bought 20 cupcakes from the cafe. If each of them contributed ₹45 and ₹55 respectively. How many cupcakes will each of them get?

Ratio of the amount paid to the number of cupcakes = 100/20 = 5/1
Explain that the ratio should remain the same for both friends.
Let us assume the number of cupcakes bought by friend 1 is y.
45/y = 5/1
y =9.
So, the number of cupcakes brought by a friend 1 = 9.
Say, the Number of cupcakes bought by friend 2 = 20 - 9 =11.
