Two friends, Jacob and Logan, went into the physical education field in the evening. Jacob decided to complete 8 rounds of a circular track and Logan decided to complete 4 rounds of the same circular track in same time. Find the maximum number of times they will meet each other after starting. Assume that both of them had constant running speed.

Let's find the factor tree of 8 and 4.


8=2×2×2
And, 4=2×2

GCD is 2×2=4

They will meet each other maximum four times.

Let's understand in a different way.

Given that Jacob covers double distance that of Logan at the same time.

For every 2 rounds of Jacob, Logan will complete 1 round.
Hence, they will meet at the starting point again.
For 4 rounds of Logan, they will meet 4 times, i.e., 1 time for each round of Lagon.
