The correct option is B 50.8 cm
The rate of effusion is inversely proportional to the square root of molecular weight.
The molecular weight of NO and oxygen are 30 g/mol and 32 g.mol.
Hence, the rate of effusion of NO will be higher than the rate of effusion of oxygen. Due to this, the distance traveled by NO will be more than half of the length of the tube which is 1 m. Hence, at distance of 50.8 cm from NO gas end, Brown fumes will be seen.
