Solution

Dear student,

A person cannot be judged by the awkward appearance as a book cannot be judged by its cover. Here in this story, the two boys looked shabby and untidy which made the driver disapprove them. However, the author's interest on them increased on finding them indulging in all sorts of odd jobs with a willingness. Their sincerity, devotion & dedication towards the work to meet the medical expenses of their sister were appreciable. Though the boys indulged into a variety of jobs to earn money, they did not want to spend the money on themselves. The qualities shown by the boys made the narrator to give the title The Two Gentlemen of Verona.

Some alternate titles can be:

  • The Two Bravehearts
  • Selfless Brothers
These two boys exhibited the characteristics of true gentlemen who took life in their stride and displayed grace and courage in the face of adversities. Hence, the title suits them aptly when it comes to a story about these two boys. Their maturity and selfless love was far beyond their actual years. Nicola and Jacopo were the epitome of gentlemanly grace and integrity of character. Their selfless dedication to the betterment of their diseased sister's health, even at the cost of their own welfare was something quite rare to see. Their devotion and dedication to the most menial of tasks and their constant hunger for work inspired me to follow them around. The most important thing about them was that what he had mistaken for their innocence was actually their maturity, that self-assuredness came from having watched their lives fall apart during the war but also having the strength to piece it back together in whichever way possible. Their love for their sister and each other is what kept them going.
