Two heterozygous parents (AaBb) are crossed. If the two loci are completely linked (AB/ab), what would be the distribution of phenotypic features in resulting generation of test cross?

Solution

Linkage is the phenomenon of presence of two genes close to each other on the same chromosome. The genes are called as linked genes. In the given question it is given that two loci are completely linked, that is AB/ab., the progenies will be wild type dominant and wild type recessive. Hence, the percent of wild type will be almost 100% rather than 3:1 ratio.
