Maximum kinetic energy K=hcλϕ
where λ is the wavelength of incident light and ϕ is the work function of the metal.
For first case : λ=λ1=2λ2
K1=hc2λ2ϕ ....(1)
For second case : λ=λ2
K2=hcλ2ϕ
K22=hc2λ2ϕ2 .....(2)
From (2) - (1), we get
K22K1=ϕ2 K22>K1
