Solution

The correct option is A 0.75 J
The Q0=5uc is transfered from AB,d=0.5m Potential due to a change ring at a distance x from is centre is given by :- V=KQr2+z2 where K=14π0,r=0.1m
Potential at centre A,
VA=Kq1r+Kq2r2+α2 [Potential due to both rings]
=9×109(2×1060.1+4×1060.12+0.562)=2.5×105V
Similarly ar B,
VB=Kq2r+Kq2r2+α2
=9×109(4×1060.1+2×1060.12+0.52)=3.95×105V
Thus work done
W=Q0(VBVA)
=6×106×(3.95×1052.5×105)
W=0.7250.75J
