For type I settling (discrete particles in dilute suspension) under laminar flow condition, Stokes’ law can be applied.

As per Stokes’ law,

If other parameters are assumed to be constant, then,

(V30V15)=(d30d15)2

(d30d15)=(V30V15)=(3015)=1.414

(d30d15)=1.414
