Ψ=α+βdcosθ

When Ψ=0,2π,2π,4π,4π maxima occurs in that direction.

Maximum at θ=0,π3,π2,2π3,π,4π3,3π2,5π3

So, number of lobes in the radiation pattern in the horizontal plane = 8.
